Introduction
JConsole4 expanded on the JConsole3 platform with the introduction of an EEProm and dedicated sound chip. Commands could be sent to the dedicated sound chip that would instruct it to play a specific sound. This method of passing off the task of creating sound to another MSP430 improved performance by freeing up cycles for the main MCU. The EEProm stored basic configuration data and system states as well as the high scores for several games.
